Tech Tip - The Importance Of Properly Greasing The Air Motor On The Transfer Pump

Posted By DEMILEC || 28-Jun-2012

Have a sluggish transfer pump? Does it seize on you? Chances are, it’s not being maintained properly. Many people lube the air motor potion of the pump with lithium grease that causes it to become extremely dry and sticky. This results in a slow drag on the up stoke and down stroke that can lead to feed problems or pressure imbalances. Correct this problem by using a synthetic marine grease such as Mobil SHC 100. Apply liberally around o-rings and inside the air cylinder.
