Tech Tip - What is an 0A Error Code?

Posted By DEMILEC || 30-Sep-2011

An 0A error code on an Reactor Series propotioning unit simply means that the machine has lost communication to the FTS (Fluid Temperature Sensor). This kind of reading is displayed if the FTS is disconnected at startup or if there is an issue with the FTS or TC (thermocouple-purple) wire. The machine does not recognize the sensor and is in amperage mode.

0A stands for ZERO amperage. If you are on a spray job and only have a small amount to complete, you can continue to use your equipment in “manual hose heat” mode, by pressing the UP arrow on the temperature display board, you will see that the 0A will allow you to adjust up to 45 amps.

Depending on the length of hose and temperature desired, select the amperage and use a backstab thermometer along side the butyl jacket lining of the hose as near as possible to the gun without puncturing the hose. This way you can have an accurate reading as to what your hose temperature really is allowing you to spray good foam. This should be done only as a temporary fix until you can resolve the issue and replace the part(s) necessary.

As always read, understand and follow all instruction manuals and warning labels supplied with all equipment. Only trained and qualified personnel should perform repairs on the equipment. To access the latest equipment manuals visit www.graco.com.
