The Demilec Story
How Our Legacy Began
In 1983, Demilec opened operations on the North Shore area of Montreal,
Canada. Our 80,000 square foot research and manufacturing facility began
the Demilec story.
In 1997, Demilec expanded operations into the U.S. (Dallas, Texas) by establishing
a research, development, and polyurethane manufacturing plant. In order
to meet aggressive market demands, in July 2014, Demilec opened a new
state-of-the-art facility in Arlington, Texas, designed to optimize U.S.
production in its laboratories and manufacturing plant. With both the
U.S. and Canada manufacturing our products, as well as sales representatives
throughout North America, Demilec serves customers both locally and globally
in commercial, industrial, residential, and agricultural construction.
What We Develop. How We Achieve Results. How We Measure Progress.
Demilec is a forerunner in the development of innovative technology and
advanced science to create a line of open-cell and closed-cell spray foam
insulation and coating products. During the past 30 years, we have established
a widely-recognized reputation as a leader in the polyurethane field for
our unsurpassed quality and performance of our products, supported by
superior service. In addition, Demilec has seen continued growth year
after year, which has provided jobs for the economy, while we continue
to develop products which decrease the demand for fossil fuels worldwide.
Our spray foam insulation and coating products make commercial, industrial,
residential, and agricultural buildings more energy efficient by providing
high R-values, utilizing some of the highest recycled and renewable content
commercially available, and sealing areas to create barriers against outside
air, moisture, vapor, and noise pollutants.
In addition to building our new facility in July 2014, our employee growth
from when Demilec began in 1983, went from five employees to more than
150 employees between the U.S. headquarters and the Canadian office and
Since the Demilec plant is fully-automated,this means it takes fewer people
and less manpower to produce the same amount of product a non-automated
plant would produce.
From the corporate and administrative leadership, to the chemical development
group, we have also continued to grow by evolving our processes and procedures,
which allow us to provide better service and produce higher quality products.
The chemists in the U.S. work in collaboration with our Canadian chemists
when developing product formulas and partner together using innovative
science to maintain Demilec's standing as an industry leader.
In October 2014, Demilec hit a milestone – we recycled our 300 millionth
plastic bottle! That's 300 million plastic bottles which would have
ended up in landfills otherwise!
Our tireless efforts to use renewable and recyclable content in our products
have been significantly recognized by various organizations.
